Rainstorms and Wine Can Bring Unexpected Luck

A rainy summer eve I met my long time friend (and some time commuter buddy) Linda for drinks at a wine bar I’d been wanting to try.  Always good to have a wine lover on an adventure like this.  We sat in the back patio – which has a very cool wall made with wine bottles.

It was raining, with the corner of the patio roof letting some of the rain in near our table.  We stayed for a second glass based on the speed of the mini streams coming down the pretty brick wall.  After many laughs about the follies of our industry, we made our way out of the bar, wondering if our walk to Grand Central would soak us.  Wouldn’t you know it, but the second we stepped out of the bar an EMPTY cab pulled up!  If you NYC, that is amazing luck!

Topping our unexpectedly lucky day, we saw a rainbow over a billboard that featured one word “GRATITUDE.”
